Mixed Emotions

So the Great and Wonderful Aunt Krissy (as we have all come to call her) decided that there would be no perfect present for Kimberlen's birthday than an airline ticket to come stay the weekend with her. What a spoiled child. After she crawled in bed with me this morning I thought that this little girl is growing up too fast. It seems like it was just last week that I was having to wipe her butt and chase her around the house and now she is 6 and going on an airplane without me. I asked her last night if she was scared and she said no, so I ended up pushing her by saying "but this is the first time you will be flying without me" what a mistake. She decided that she was a little scared after putting a little thought into it. But, she wasn't going alone. Krissy's Terrific boyfriend Pete was going to be flying with her. Today on the way to the airport I wanted to know if she was still scared but I said "Are you excited?" this time as to not put the word scared into her head. She answered with a confident YES. A few moments later she said "but I am a little nervous". Now I was nervous and Pete I am sure was nervous. My little girl is going hundreds of mile away from me for the first time. I am so excited for her to get to spend the weekend doing incredible things....seeing the sharks, fish and mermaids, swimming with the dolphins and watching the jousting while eating with her hands....just a few of the activities that are planned. I am scared to let her go and happy that she gets this experience. What a day filled with emotions. I am glad I don't have these very often. We got to the airport and she was ready to go, no hesitation at all this time. By her look you can sure tell she is ready for the warmth and fun of LAS VEGAS BABY!!

I'm sure I have nothing to worry about, but that is the mothers job right? By the way Eric is down there racing this weekend so if anything was to happen he would be able to be right there with her. I will let you all know how it went and what she had to say when she gets back on Sunday.

I think the older the kids get the harder it is to leave them. She is all grown up. I guess you can just enjoy the nice weekend with Maycee.

I didn't know that your aunt lived in Vegas! That would be so hard to let any of my kids go, but your right, it will be an amazing time for her!

I love the new pictures of the girls. I cannot believe how fast they are growing. I love the dresses and matching hair things. Did you make them?
