First Grade

Yahoo!!! Kimberlen gets to go to all day school next year. We had her Kindergarten testing and she past everything with 100%. It was very interesting to see the progress she made in one year. Her writing, which I thought was good then, is way better now. She knows so much more about letters, numbers, spelling, reading and mathematics. I am sure that we did not have such academic requirements when I was in Kindergarten. I remember laying on the carpet remnants and drinking milk with cookies. Kids have it a lot tougher these days and I am glad I am not there. Her teacher this year has been really good. I am going to try and get a picture of her with Kimberlen so that will be coming. I am just so proud of my little girl. I know that sometimes she gets treated as if she is older and I do expect a lot out of her but that is only because I know that she can do it. In fact right now she is changing the laundry for me. I think I will even be able to talk her in to folding it. She is so excited to be able to eat lunch with the "BIG Kids" and go all day. (I can't wait!) But now the dilemma is what to do with her during the summer. I have signed her up for swimming lessons but that is only for 2 or 3 weeks. She got her own library card so we will be hitting the library quite a few times I'm sure. If anyone has any ideas I am open to them. I just don't want her to get out of such a great learning routine and forget too much. I guess we'll see how it goes. Ü
