Another fun day at the local Rocky Mountain Race Track. It turned out not to be that great of a day for racing but we sure had a fun time. It was 90+ degrees and breezy, prefect for a getting a sun tan and thanks to Cory for demonstrating how it is done.
Kimberlen in her Flower Hat that the clown made for her. She thought she was pretty cute, which she was, until she stood too close to the fence and it popped. Bummer!!
Maycee was quite content in the shade of her
stroller sucking on ice. Her she has her thumb up through the center of it. And we used the silicone earplugs for both girls and
Maycee left them alone all night and was not
bothered be the
noisy cars. Hurray!! She made it through her first night of racing. Last time I brought her she started bawling and Uncle Cory took her home for the rest of the night.
Once again here is
Kimberlen being her goofy self. We signed her up for Rocky's Kid Club and she got a free T-Shirt and was able to ride in the Pace Car. She was so excited, she stood in line half the night waiting for her turn. I didn't get a picture of her
on the track but as they drove through the Pits the driver stopped in front of Eric's trailer so she could say "HI DAD" and he was able to see her in the car. Pretty exciting for a 6 year old. Now
Maycee and I are the only ones that have not been around the track in our family.
Here is a In Motion picture of Eric racing. It looks pretty good and he just passed the yellow car behind him. Yeah!
Unfortunately one of the cars in front of him broke an oil gasket and laid down a bunch of oil as they came
around the corner and he spun out and was hit a couple of times, but not too much damage this time. He ended up finishing 8
th out of 13 cars, so that's pretty good
considering the wreck! Way to go.
And this is probably the most exciting moment of the night for
Kimberlen. James, Eric's
teammate, let her get in his car and "drive it" as they loaded it into the trailer. So all in all we had a pretty
event full night. We had a bunch of family and friends that helped support him show up and this is what racing is all about!!

How fun!!.. and scary. Don't know how you can be calm and watch your husband spin out in a race car!! Kimberlen looks like she had a blast:)
Looks fun and hot. Gotta love the summer heat, it's very short lived. Your girls are darling! Where is a picture of Mom in her bikini washing the race car. I am sure Eric would LOVE that! ( ha ha ha ha ) That would be a funny blog!
Way to go Eric! You better watch out Dest, before you know it you are going to be cheering for Kimberlyn at the race track as she goes for the win!!! You are a brave wife and mom!
I agree with Becca, I don't know how you can watch him wreck and still go and watch him all the time. That is awesome though! It sounds like you guys have such a fun time.
