So yesterday afternoon as Kimberlen and I were doing laundry down stairs I noticed that the carpet in the corner felt wet and I could hear water running. When Eric got home we decided that it was our main waterline from the street to our house that was leaking.
Our good friend and plumber BJ stopped by on his way home from work and this is what we ended up with. A BIG MESS! He did a great job as to not be too messy but what can you expect with dirt and water.
The hole they dug ended up being 3-4 feet deep and all muddy. They were out there until 9 o'clock fixing the leak. I did make him a steak dinner, but nothing can repay him for all the work he did to save us from a bigger disaster.
And yes this is not the first time this has leaked. Last time we were out of town and we had to tear out the carpet and part of the wall and repaint and the whole nine yards. At least this time we caught it early. Now we just need to fill the hole back in with dirt.
